Sometimes I look at the notes on something and I think, well, that’s got plenty of attention already, hasn’t it? But oftentimes the reason something has got attention is because it is well done and delightful to the soul. Jane as a floofy gray owl with eyeglasses-markings falls firmly into the latter category, and in this case attains the first as well.

There being sexytiems, I should be quite focused on that. However, I find part of my attention inexplicably drawn to the rendering of Jane’s hair, which is wonderfully wild and does something visually what I can’t describe — and also to the bra. Oh, kids, impatient much?

Man, I love Jane’s expression. Any second now she’s going to put an arm round Mom’s shoulder and gently hustle her into a quiet room, taking the glass away as Mom tries to drag her down to the couch in an effusive hug. She’ll wonder what could be so enspiriting about this alcohol stuff anyway and sneak a sip, only to find out that it tastes remarkably exactly like sparkling mineral water with a hint of olive juice. Years in the future: she thinks to herself that some people need liquid courage to bolster ‘em, and others just need a liquid shield to hide behind — no matter which.
